Made it in time for imfree tour, which meets at the anchor/construction work beside Town Hall. Our guide for the day was Matt.
The good thing about having a wife who's keen in photography? You get very nice pictures of yourself.
I do not attempt to retrace the route, save to say that the tour covers the following: the opera house, the rocks, hyde park barracks, sydney tower, hourly behadings, sydney's transport, harbour bridge, sydney city, circular quay, martin place, the talking dog, and things to do. Some pictures of the 3 hour plus long tour:
The tour ends at an observatory near Circular Quay and where you can get shots of the opera house like this negative example (because the opera house is actually blur):
By the time the tour ended and we tipped for Matt's services, we were famished. Went down to 65 York St cos I previously bought a deal for AUD39 which gives us 1 antipasto, 1 mixed salad, 1 garlic bread, a choice of any pizza or pasta each and a glass of house wine, beer or soft drink each. What an awesome deal! The food was great too. And Tobs who doesn't usually like garlic bread, was totally impressed by Taglio's. The wine helped warm us up too while we just sat and watch the crowds go by.
After resting enough, we walked to Darling Harbour. Very pretty in the day as well.
Great timing seagull :)
Enruote to Sydney Fish Market (which Tobs assured would be open even in the evening), we got side-tracked by a quaint cafe that served yummy looking cakes. No prizes for guessing whether we went in.
AUD7.40 for a skinny cap, a lemon tart and a mini slice of triple choc before we continued on our way to finally reach the Sydney Fish Market (all this on foot okay!).
As I suspected, nothing was open. Except the Chinese seafood restaurant on level 2. And I ain't eating Chinese food in Sydney. Plus we weren't hungry really, lunch was really filling and the cakes also filled us up a bit. Well if it were not for the fact that we were there close to sunset, I wouldn't have captured such pretty pictures of Madonna's bra, or the ANZ bridge.
On our way back, we chose the route that involved the Pymont Bridge and it was a nice pretty walk all the way back to Kings Cross. Of course we tried to look out for eateries that we may want to frequent, by our if-there's-alot-of-ppl-means-must-be-really-good radar.
